《极速前进》的灵感源自美国经典真人秀电视节目《The Amazing Race》。中国版《极速前进》别具一格，首次采用演艺大咖和跨界明星混搭的阵容，由知名电视制作人易骅带领的制作团队用心打造。该节目于2014年10月17日在深圳卫视开播，收获了良好的口碑和不俗的收视成绩。《极速前进》第二季仍由第一季的原班制作团队负责，将于2015年7月10日起，每周五21:10在深圳卫视播出。曾志伟与曾宝仪、杨千嬅与丁子高、韩庚与吴昕、邓紫棋与张芸京、筷子兄弟（肖央和王太利）、冯喆与朱珠这6组嘉宾，将在节目里展开环球竞速之旅。

《极速前进挪威版》（英语：The Amazing Race Norge）是一个以美国真人秀节目《极速前进》为蓝本的挪威版本。 节目内容为多队由两位本身有关系的挪威人所组成的参赛队伍，游历全球不同国家，并完成不同任务之环球淘汰赛，以争夺最终冠军之奖金总价值100万挪威克朗（50万挪威克朗和2辆斯巴鲁汽车）（第1季为斯巴鲁XV）（第2季为斯巴鲁森林人）。
